E. 9th Street, Oak Cliff, Dallas
East 9th Apartments transforms an underutilized urban lot adjacent to the lively Bishop Arts District into a vibrant, multi-family development. Designed to boost neighborhood walkability and reflect the area's playful energy, the 32-unit project features a covered entry courtyard, walk-up dwelling units, enhanced urban landscaping, and wide sidewalks with pedestrian lighting.
By leveraging Dallas’ Mixed Income Housing Design Bonus program, the project was allowed a reduction in required parking, prioritizing people over cars. The building’s bold roofline, dynamic façade, and warm wood details echo the neighborhood’s charm. More than just housing, East 9th is a fresh take on urban infill—enhancing connectivity and celebrating local character.
The exterior blue-gray color that changes with the light is @sherwinwilliams Delft. We love seeing the strong color in keeping with the craftsman heritage of Oak Cliff.
